The idea behind Fionia Academy is simple but important: To create the first real-time academy for seafarers with a focus on relevant maritime vocational training. A trade school for seafarers.

Tailored Pathways

Fionia Maritime Academy provides high-quality learning for seafarers within business education. Our teaching method reflects this vision, and we have based it on the following principles:

The 50 – 25 – 1 Principle
Learning can be challenging and monotonous, especially online and over long distances. To ensure high-quality learning, we use the “50-25-1” principle:
  1. We never enroll more than 50 participants per class to ensure each participant is heard and recognized.
  2. We never teach for more than 25 minutes at a time—followed by quizzes, questions, and conversations—to maintain flexibility and attention.
  3. We always include 1:1 live conversations as an integral part of the course to establish a personal connection between the teacher and the participant.
Real-Time Online Access
When you enroll in a Fionia Maritime Academy course, you will receive a personal invitation. This invitation includes practical information and a digital key to the learning platform. Once on the platform, you will be asked to do three things:
  1. Watch the tutorial video on how to navigate and use the platform.
  2. Fill in a survey including your educational background and expectations for the course.
  3. Take a short English language test
Industry-Relevant Courses

We teach Fundamental Maritime Business over six weeks in eigth sessions. The purpose of the FMB course is to introduce the institutional and commercial settings of international shipping.
