Mentorship

The purpose of the Fionia Maritime Academy Mentorship program is to provide eye to eye dialog with a professional counsellor doing education.
Inspiration and support are critical for the professional development of seafarers having the ocean as their workplace.
The program consists of three variations of mentorship, which are tailored to different needs:
The Classic Mentorship Program (CMP)

The Classic Mentorship Program (CMP) for career development. The CMP consists of four annual conversations 1:1 with present and former top managers from the maritime industry. The purpose is to give the ambitious seafarer a number of reflective tools which can support the professional development at sea and beyond. Our mentors are:
- Peter Borup
- Lars Christiansen
- Niels Kjær-Petersen
- Esben Poulsson
- Christian Vinther Christensen
- Cecilie Enevoldsen
The Academic Tutor Program (ATP)
The Academic Tutor Program (ATP) for support in the academic development of the seafarers. ATP has been developed to support seafarers with the demanding challenges of combinoing a busy life onboard with maritime business learning. The program aims to help seafarers accomplishing credit giving courses at universities.
The introduction to education conversation (IEC)

The introduction to education conversation (IEC). IEC consists of a 45 minute personal conversation about the educational opportunities for the seafarer. The purpose is to help the seafarers navigating the overwhelming landscape of maritime education. We have mapped out educational opportunities both in relation to technical education and business education and in this conversation we formulate about realistic plans for future education onboard.
